Odaci's Hediye Meet Hediye (Present or gift). She is a Purebred Kangal. Imported from Germany- Breeder The Odaci Brothers. Kangal Dogs - "Are a National Treasure of Turkey, to be respected and preserved."

Ed was home this weekend (2/15/09) and we were able to get
a couple of photos of the hawk Hediye killed. Then off the hawk
went to the DNR to be studied.
Hediye is as predictable as ever. In the photo with
Ed, he is trying to show her the hawk and is praising her for a good job.
As you can see (top photo)she is already turning to flop on her back so that
Ed can give her the much desired belly rub. I can just tell in that
photo - ooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Hediyeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeee NOOOOOOOOOOO Dont
plop
Well she did. The next two photos (below)she had to
play dead just like the hawk. What a ham.

Hediye watching Ed do his chores - 10/10/08. Hediye is an exceptional Kangal. She is fantastic in every way. Hediye is a classic beauty with fantastic conformation, temperament, working abilility, and has good solid bone. She is a favorite of mine & I would never want to be without her. She has guarded sheep, dairy goats, & birds. At this time she is one of the guardians of our farm (barns & home) and does an exceptional job. It is a pleasure to do chores each day with Hediye by my side very step of the way. She has a gentle manner that is endearing to me but I know she is all business when she needs to be. little about the breeders. The Odaci brothers have very beautiful dogs
with excellent temperament. They are dedicated to the Kangal breed and
their aim is to sell to good working homes. All their dogs work
sheep, and the pups are line bred on excellent working parents. We are so happy and honored to
have such nice pups. This is the Odaci's web site www.kangal55. A little about Hedyie's breeding. Hedyie and Safak are from a very special, old, legendary, almost extinct blood lines of Kangal dogs in Kangal dating back to 1893. Filiz, the dam of the pups was bred by Turhan Kangal, and is pretty much the last dog in his very old lines. Filiz was a working dog with sheep in Turkey, owned by Ahmet Gokay until she was sold and moved to Germany at 5 years of age. Filiz's sire is Turhan Kangal's famous Ballak and the Grandsire is the even more famous Tarzan. Duman the sire of the pups is a son of Ejder, who was best young dog at the festival 2001. Duman's mother is Odaci's Ceylan a daughter of Duman I, owned by Abdurrahman Sisman in Kangal. His father is the old Aslan who is also a festival winner. Hedyie and Safak are from very precious old lines of Turhan Kangal. They are big strong dogs with perfect working ability and character. They were chosen very carefully.
Hediye showed at the GLKC specilty show on June 14, 2008. We took her literally out of the field, brushed the dirt and mud off of her as she is a working dog, loaded her up and took her to the UKC Premier show. Hediye took Best Female.
