Meet Lokum (Turkish Delight).  She is a Purebred Sivas Kangal Kopegi.

It was a special treat to Ed that he was able to see our Lokum's birthplace while visiting with Onur in Turkey 6/09.

Lokum is fantastic with  ALL livestock including the rams.  She has been a wonderful livestock guardian from a tiny puppy.  She is happiest being with livestock & this trait has been passed to many, many of her pups - 4/9/09.

Lokum 10/16/08.  Lokum has matured into a very nice gal.  

She has a wonderful temperament & is an EXCELLENT working livestock dog.

Here Lokum is excited to get her treats from Ed.  Dallas our Rat Terrier wants her share as well.  Lokum is due to whelp any day now.  Photo 10/16/08

Lokum 4/18/08.  As you can see from the photo below, Lokum has matured very well into a very beautiful, classic Kangal.  She is fantastically built.

Lokum is a proven dam that has whelped many FANTASTIC working puppies.  She has passed on her excellent temperament and working ablility to her pups.  So far, all of Lokum's pups have had EXCELLENT hip reports.  She is the dam of Berk.

Misty Acres Berk's Penn Hip scores are:

                                             .27 left hip & .19 right hip - EXCELLENT hips.

Lokum is also the dam of Zeki.  Zeki has won multiple FCI European Champion titles in several European countries over the past year.  He recently won Best Male dog at the prestigious Dortmund Dog show held at Dortmund Germany on May 2, 2008.  We had the honor and privilege  of attending the Dortmund dog show this year and seeing Zeki in action when he won Best Male.  This past weekend he took another best of breed & CH title in Poland on 6/15/08.

Also, Zeki's hips were recently checked officially under FCI rule with the result of 0/0.  That means no evidence of HD and the best results as can be obtained in Europe.
